Founded in 2013, Southern Airways Corporation is one of the fastest growing aviation companies in the America.  Southern Airways Corporation is the parent company of two FAA operating certificates, Southern Airways Express and Executive Express Aviation.

Southern Airways Express began operations in the former Northwest/Delta hub city of Memphis. Providing affordable, reliable, short-haul passenger air service to an area that had lost so many flights proved to be a winning formula. Popular destinations from the Memphis hub are Destin, Fla., and Nashville, with seasonal service to both Atlanta and New Orleans.

In February of 2016, Southern Airways purchased Fort Lauderdale-based air carrier, Sun Air Express. The acquisition immediately made Southern Airways one of largest Essential Air Service providers in the nation. Operating from a hub at Pittsburgh International Airport with a secondary hubs and both Baltimore-Washington and Washington-Dulles, Southern now provides air service to thirteen cities in the mid-Atlantic region.   Additional growth is coming in 2017, as we explore opportunities in other parts of the world.

Southern Airways Express operates its scheduled service routes using a fleet of Cessna Caravans, with maintenance bases in Memphis, Lancaster, Penn. and DuBois, Penn. The core principles that comprise the Southern Airways model are reliability, safety, frequency, affordable fares, and local community engagement.  The core principles of our management and ownership are honesty, integrity, and the old-fashioned “Southern” concept of a handshake being as good as a contract.

While scheduled passenger air service in both the Gulf region and mid-Atlantic regions is the focus of Southern Airways, the sister operating company, Executive Express Aviation, operates on-demand jet charter services from the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Ill.
