Morgantown

The largest city in Northern West Virginia is also the home of West Virginia University. Playing in the Big 12, The West Virginia Mountaineers host some of the most competitive collegiate sporting events in the nation. The diverse international student base adds an eclectic metropolitan feel to this storied mountain town. Located on the banks of the Monongahela River, the bustling city is also a haven for outdoor activities such as hiking and white water rafting. Getting around town is easy and fun, as Morgantown has America’s only personal rapid transit system—a network of small, bus-like passenger rail cars operating on above-ground and raised light rail. 15,000 passengers per day use the unique public transit system.
